Celebrate National Consumer Protection Week with Candy Wrappers

National Consumer Protection Week will be here before you know it. So we wanted to share a unique way to celebrate the consumer focused holiday. It all starts with an understanding of the 5 Cent Candy Bar Wars and personalized candy wrappers.
For those readers who’ve never heard of the 5 Cent Candy Bar Wars, allow us to elaborate. It was a unique, 1940s protest movement started by a Canadian teen. His name was Parker Williams. He kicked off the movement in response to what he felt was price gouging on the part of candy merchants operating in his hometown of Ladysmith. The movement, which urged consumers not to buy the merchants’ overinflated sweets, quickly caught on and spread throughout Canada. At the time, it even made the national news. The only thing that stopped it from being completely successful was adult Cold War politics.

Although the kids were not able to win the war, their bittersweet battle is a great example of how even the youngest of consumers can band together and make their strong opinions known. So why not celebrate that fact, and their age-old efforts, with personalized candy wrappers? The candy wrappers could be decorated with references to the war or the documentary film that was made about it in later years. If anything, mention of the 5 Cent Candy Bar Wars would at least spark a spirited conversation among chocolate bar recipients. If you don’t want to reference that historical moment, you could always decorate the candy wrappers with information about the National Consumer Protection Agency or some of the agency’s shopping tips instead. Many people may appreciate them.
Other decorative options that may work for this particular candy wrapper promotion are graphics of shoppers, cash registers, money and corporate logos. To learn more about which designs are available and how to create your own National Consumer Protection Week candy wrappers, please contact us.

Candy Wrapper Invitations Beat Electronic Invites for a Children's Birthday Party

Electronic invites sound so easy for a children’s birthday party, but candy wrapper invitations have the clear edge. See how they’ll cut down on your work and expenses while helping your child to get more out of the experience.
With physical invitations, your child gets to participate more in the creative process and can even learn valuable etiquette and character lessons. Ask your little one to help write or decorate the invitations. When it comes to handing them out, talk about why it’s important to treat people well. In general, it’s usually okay to follow the law of age plus one so you wind up with a manageable number of guests.
On the other hand, if you’re going to invite almost the whole class, it’s better to go the extra yard and not leave anyone out. Whatever you do, explain to your child why you can’t hand out invitations in front of people you’re not inviting. You may want to give them out individually or organize a play date when you can share them.

Candy wrapper invitations are especially great because they’re low cost. You’ll save money and may help start a trend to curb excessive spending for the whole neighborhood. By printing your invitation on a candy bar, you’ll also get people’s attention and give busy parents something tangible that they can hold onto for a reminder. That’s nice when you need RSVP's and want people to notice special instructions like dressing up in costume.
We’ve got plenty of ideas if you need help designing your chocolate invitations. Just make sure they match your theme whether it’s ballerinas or pirates or something more unusual like Indonesian shadow puppets. You can even add a photo of the birthday boy or girl.
Candy bar wrappers from Sweet Wrappings make delicious favors for any special occasion from birthday parties to weddings. Contact us for friendly customer service that will show you how easy it is to get personalized party favors.

Soup & Sweets for the Soul
The month is all about showing compassion for others. So why not make contact with a soup kitchen or charitable organization and host a heart-warming event? Afterwards, you could give the soup kitchen or non-profit’s staff and visitors chocolate ad specialties as a reminder that someone cares about them.
Participate in School Others
Attending local schools and sharing both your knowledge and chocolate ad specialties with the students may also be appreciated. The best way to arrange such a fun, educational event is to contact the institution’s after school program coordinators, teachers, principal or superintendent for guidance.
Help Humankind’s Best Friends
We are sure that animal shelters and animal rescue groups would enjoy being recognized during Worldwide Renaissance of the Heart Month too. So why not help them out by offering to purchase or sell chocolate ad specialties on their behalf? They could then turn around and use the proceeds from the chocolate ad specialties sale to show compassion towards the animal kingdom.

Personalized Wrappings Can Make Buying and Selling a Little Sweeter This Valentine's Day

Did you miss out on sharing a little holiday cheer with clients? Well, you are in luck.  Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and so is your chance to hand out unique treats that will leave your name on the tip of their tongues. How about giving out candy to clients that has a personalized touch this year with business specialty candy wrappers?
Personalized wrappings are good for anyone looking to promote their business, including real estate agents and brokers.  If your business involves selling homes, office space, or the land buildings are developed upon, personalized wrappings can make buying and selling a little sweeter. Still not convinced? Here are a couple of additional morsels to tempt your thought buds.

Taste is unforgettable. We delight in what we eat. The appeal of chocolate dates back to centuries ago when the Aztecs looked upon chocolate as a coveted gift that was worthy only for the most esteemed.  Chocolate was so desirable, in fact, that those who gave the gift of chocolate were viewed as wise and the possessor exquisite taste.  When we place a sweet morsel in our mouths and onto our tongues our brains kick into high gear. On a subliminal level the receiver will think of the sweet taste and those pleasant thoughts will become associated to guess who? You! Now that is sweet idea!
Aesthetically appealing visuals make a positive difference. We like things that are attractive. We don’t have to know what is under the hood of a fancy sports car to find it appealing. And if we like what we see, chances are we want to come back for more. Give a client a sweet treat wrapped in a beautiful wrapper baring your company’s logo and contact information. If you want to make an even stronger individualized impression, pass out delicious candy bars featuring a photo of you. You are sure to make a lasting impression!

A great way to say thank you.   Everyone likes to feel appreciated. Especially clients. Whether you have items freely available in a reception area or you personally hand-out a parting gift, receiving a token of appreciation can go a long way in cementing a long-standing business relationship. Happy sharing!
Try business specialty candy wrappers this Valentine’s Day. Contact us for a give-away that will leave a sweet taste in the mouth of your clients.

Tips for Hosting a Super Sweet Chocolate Favors Wrap Party

Over the years, many Sweet Wrappings’ customers have chosen to order personalized wrappers to go with their event’s chocolate favors. Some of those customers have opted to wrap the candies themselves. Others have chosen to gather friends together and host a wrap party. With that in mind, we decided that it might be nice to share our tips for hosting such an event:
#1: Serve Inspiring Refreshments
Wrapping chocolate favors can make a person crave a sweet treat. So we’d recommend providing wrap party attendees with something to nosh on. The refreshment offerings could be as elaborate or as simple as you like. One option is to offer an array of chocolate inspired main entrees. They would most assuredly be a welcome and unexpected treat.
Believe it or not, there are many main entrees that may be made with chocolate. Ones to consider are braised short ribs, black bean vegetable chili, roast beef and baked tilapia dressed with a chocolate sauce. Of course you could also opt to serve chocolate inspired soups, appetizers, side dishes, desserts and drinks too.

#2: Provide Music
Most experts agree that listening to various types of music has the potential to increase both happiness and productivity. As such, playing music while everyone wraps chocolate favors may prove to be a worthwhile endeavor as well. Personally, we’d suggest playing upbeat tunes. However, your wrap party attendees may prefer mellow tunes instead.
#3: Set-up a Competition
Setting up a competition designed to reward the person that wraps the most chocolate favors in the shortest amount of time is another option to consider. You could use extra chocolate favors, chocolate spa treatments or chocolate scented items as rewards.
#4: Express Gratitude
Lastly, don’t forget to express your gratitude to everyone that participates in the chocolate wrap party. Examples include sending out thank-you cards, mentioning participants in press releases and posting their names on a special bulletin board.

Chocolate Wrappers and February 2014 Sporting Events: A Fantastic Idea

Are you looking for something to anchor a February 2014 promotion to that doesn’t involve former U.S. Presidents and cherubs? If so, we’d like to suggest that you contemplate using major sporting events and customized chocolate wrappers. There are so many holidays that will be taking place this month that you’re apt to find more than one that will fit into your plans. Here are six that may work:
Super Bowl 2014
To begin with, there is Super Bowl 2014 to consider. Unless the weather turns nasty, fans can anticipate the excitement to take place late in the day on February 2nd. So why not create chocolate wrappers in support of the two NFL teams?
National Girls & Women in Sports Day
Not into football promotions? You may want to promote National Girls & Women in Sports Day instead. It typically takes place each year on the first Sunday of the month. This year, the special event falls on February 5th. Because the holiday doesn’t focus on one particular sport, you could feasibly use it to celebrate any one or all of your favorites.

Winter Olympics
This year we also have the Winter Olympics on the horizon. It’s expected to kickoff on February 7th and run through the 23rd. Some of the sporting events slated to be on tap are skiing, skating, curling, luge and bobsledding. With that said, you could design chocolate wrappers for each event or focus on an overall Olympic theme.
NBA All Star Game Day
February also traditionally brings with it the NBA All Star Game Day. In 2014, it’s slated to take place on the 16th. We have chocolate wrappers with a basketball theme that would be perfect for the occasion.
NASCAR Sprint Unlimited/ NASCAR Daytona 500
Lastly, let’s not forget about all of the NASCAR fans out there. They deserve custom chocolate wrappers too. Two big racing events anticipated to take place are the Sprint Unlimited and the Daytona 500. One is tentatively scheduled for the 15th. The other is expected to go down on the 23rd.

Celebrate Iconic Wedding Dates with Anniversary Custom Candy Wrappers

If you are one of those happy couples who planned your wedding around iconic dates, keep the celebration going with anniversary custom candy wrappers. Personalized chocolates are a great way to include your loved ones in the pattern of your life.
The trend for iconic wedding dates has been holding strong for years. According to the David’s Bridal annual survey, more than 3,000 couples got wed on 11/12/13 compared to only 371 on that day last year. Considering that it was a Tuesday and not a weekend, the credit must go to the number itself. On a practical level, people like a date that stands out because they are less likely to ever forget their anniversary. Experts predict that the 65,000 record set on 07/07/07 could be broken on 12/13/14, which is the last consecutive series of the century.

Having such a catchy anniversary date makes party planning even more fun. In addition to your party favors, build references to the big day into your invitations, decorations and entertainment. We can suggest a design for your candy wrappers or bring to life a creation all your own. For invitations, include a list of major world events on that day starting with your own wedding. Your decorations could feature items like candles or lanterns in the same multiples as the dates. Look up songs with those digits in the lyrics to put on your play list. Maybe Love Potion No. Nine does not fit, but there are plenty of other options. How about Just the Two of Us, It’s Five O’clock Somewhere, or Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony?
No matter what your marital status is, turn an ordinary chocolate bar into something unique with custom personalized wrappers. Contact us for affordable favors for all your special occasions complete with excellent design service and friendly customer assistance.
